Gertrude E. (Shea) Considine, "Trudy," age 96, of Fall River, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Fall River Jewish Home. Daughter of the late Mortimer and Margaret (Redding) Shea, she was the wife of the late William F. Considine. She is survived by one daughter; Nancy A. Ziccardi and her husband Joseph of Dartmouth, one son; Gary Considine and his wife Colleen of Westport, daughter-in-law; Carol Considine of New Bedford, three grandchildren; Karen Becker, Kathryn Carey, Patrick Considine, four great-grandchildren; Isabel, Jack, Grace, Charley and many nieces and nephews.

Gertrude E. (Shea) Considine, "Trudy," age 96, of Fall River, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Fall River Jewish Home. Daughter of the late Mortimer and Margaret (Redding) Shea, she was the wife of the late William F. Considine. She is survived by one daughter; Nancy A. Ziccardi and her husband Joseph of Dartmouth, one son; Gary Considine and his wife Colleen of Westport, daughter-in-law; Carol Considine of New Bedford, three grandchildren; Karen Becker, Kathryn Carey, Patrick Considine, four great-grandchildren; Isabel, Jack, Grace, Charley and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Michael Considine. She was also predeceased by her sisters Nora Shea, Margaret Vogel, & Catherine Kehoe and by her brothers Timothy, Daniel, & Mortimer Shea.

She was a lifelong resident of the city who lived in the Corky Row area for many years. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1938, she worked for the former Cherry and Webb Department Store as a sales associate for 29 years until its closing. She later worked for the Citizens for Citizens program where she was an office assistant at the Fall River Second District Court until her retirement in 2005.

Mrs. Considine was a former communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Corky Row Club. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Fall River Jewish Home for the kind, loving, and compassionate care that was provided to their Mom over the past five years.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 9:00AM from the Waring- Sullivan Funeral Home, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Fall River Jewish Home, 538 Robeson St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
