Michael R. Ryerson, of Bradenton, FL, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Bradenton Hospice House. He was the husband of Tracie M. (Murphy) Ryerson to whom he has been married for the past 41 years.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Harold and Lauretta (Rooney) Ryerson, he lived in Fall River for many years before moving to Bradenton, Florida.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1960, he received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the former SMU, now UMASS Dartmouth and his Masters in Engineering...

Michael R. Ryerson, of Bradenton, FL, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Bradenton Hospice House. He was the husband of Tracie M. (Murphy) Ryerson to whom he has been married for the past 41 years.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Harold and Lauretta (Rooney) Ryerson, he lived in Fall River for many years before moving to Bradenton, Florida.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1960, he received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the former SMU, now UMASS Dartmouth and his Masters in Engineering from the University of Northern Colorado. Mr. Ryerson was an Engineer at the Newport Naval Base for many years and earned many awards and patents before retiring in 2004.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three stepdaughters, Pamela Fleming of Wellesley MA, Julie Palermo and her husband Joseph of Monroe, CT, Tara Patterson and her husband Robert of Mocksville, NC; one sister, Susan McPhillips and her husband Charles of Warwick, RI; five grandchildren, Joseph, Olivia and Thomas Palermo and Emma and Lauren Patterson and several nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 9:15 to 10:15AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St. Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River.
